Greetings from Fr. Joe

Peace and blessings to you!

On behalf of our entire parish family at St. John the Evangelist Parish, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to you. Whether you are visiting, new to our community, returning to the Church, or seeking a spiritual home, we are truly glad that you are here.

Our parish is a vibrant and faithful community rooted in the love of Christ and guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church. We strive to grow together in faith, serve our neighbors with compassion, and celebrate the Sacraments with reverence and joy. Most importantly, we hope that you feel the presence of God and the warmth of His people here.

Please know that you are not just welcome—you are needed. Your presence enriches our community, and we invite you to become involved in parish life through worship, prayer, service, and fellowship. If you have any questions or if there’s anything we can do to support your journey of faith, do not hesitate to reach out.

Standing Ovation for the Christmas Fair

How blessed is St. John Parish with the proud history behind our annual Christmas Fair. There are men and woman whose families have orchestrated and overseen this annual fundraiser for generations. What a tribute this is to our ancestors who loved this parish as we do today. It may be a weekend event but it’s a yearlong preparation. We are so proud of the committee who works diligently to prepare, organize, solicit, set up, work the tables, draw the prizes, contact the winners and then clean up the church hall. Thank you to all your parishioners and friends who donated items, our business community who donated prizes and our parishioners and friends who came to the fair to support our parish. The atmosphere in the hall is so positive, and the spirit is contagious. It is a wonderful opportunity to socialize and renew friendships. There is healthy competition among our workers and their respective tables to assure a successful outcome. We are happy to let you know that thanks to all the above, the Christmas Fair committee presented St. John Parish with a check for $11,424.00. This gift will enable us to continue to serve the people of our parish and beyond. see more about the fair here. And be sure to support our sponsors!

Grand Annual Collection:  The GRAND ANNUAL yearly collection is very important for the well-being and growth of St. John’s parish. For your information, the Financial Annual Report for 6/30/24 to 6/30/25 has been mailed to all registered parishioners. Your contribution to the Grand Annual can be a single donation or in installments through the end of the year, all of which will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all who have contributed to this year’s collection so far, for your goodwill and for your continued generosity. To date we have collected $33,200.00. If you have not yet given to the 2025 Parish Annual Collection, please we encourage you to make your donation today.  Thank you again for your participation in this vital collection

As you may know, Hurricane Melissa,  a category 5 storm with winds of 180mph, slammed into Jamaica on

October 28th. People and communities in Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic have experienced deaths,

injuries, and widespread damage. Cuba and the Bahamas are also being impacted. Recognizing the immediate and expected need for assistance, Archbishop Henning is requesting that pastors consider taking up a voluntarily special collection to support Catholic Relief. St. John’s will hold our collection next weekend November 15th & 16th. Parishioners are asked to address their checks to St. John’s, with “Hurricane Melissa Relief” in the memo. The parish will then send what has been collected to the Archdiocese of Boston for distribution to Catholic Relief Services. Thank you for your prayers and generosity to everyone impacted by Hurricanes Melissa.

God bless,

Fr. Ron Coyne
